The Blockhouse Bay Community Centre offers school holiday programmes for children aged 5-12yrs. The programme includes day trip outings (Kiwi Valley Farm, Westwave Aquatic Centre, movies, Mystery Trip etc), as well as a few centre-based activity days (arts and crafts, plant a plant, drama etc).
The Centre is proud to offer a place of meeting for local people to use and its doors are always open to new events, activities or groups wishing to start up in the Bay.
Some common events and groups that meet at the centre include: A Bonsai club, Country Womans Institute, Market days, Drama Classes, Garden Club, Housie, Jazz Dance, Keep Fit, Line Dance, Modern Sequence Dance, Musical Classes, Mandarin, Patchwork Watercolour Painting, Yoga etc.
Community Education Classes: All details of the Community Education classes are included in the class schedule.
School Holiday Programme: We operate regular School Holiday Programmes. We also have regular hirers that run Productions and Performances, Music and Dance Recitals and more!
Hire Facilities: Our Community Centre has a number of rooms available for hire.
Main Hall:
A large multipurpose space with a stage area and upstairs mezzanine floor. The hall capacity is 300 guests with seating and tables provided. The hall has a large catering sized kitchen attached with a serving area into the hall. The Main Hall also offers a space for Performance Groups as it has a basic lighting rig, grand piano and stage wings. This hall is suitable for:

- Birthdays
- Performances
- Recitals
- Conferences
- Meetings
- Dance Groups
- Club Meetings and more.
Small Hall:
This space is suitable for meetings and smaller functions. With a capacity for 80 people theatre style or 60 people restaurant style this space works well with a small kitchen and serving area, chairs and tables. Ideal for any function that requires a smaller space. The small hall also has mirrors, making it suitable for dance & exercise classes.
