It is New Zealand's first dedicated, and most advanced climbing facility with over 600sqm of climbing surface. Thirty-five separate lines of roped routes, some over 15 metres high, cater for beginners through to pros.
For an active day out take the kids to The Extreme Edge (Rocknasium's walls) in Panmure. This challenging indoor climbing facility includes a beginners area - perfect for children aged 5yrs plus. They also provide instructors - which is great if you want to get the most out of the experience, plus all the equipment you will need and there are a number of courses and holiday programs available for children.
Extreme Edge (Rocknasium's walls): Indoor & Outdoor Rock Climbing are built to cater for international competitions. The main 'Cantilever Ledge' has 20 metres of climbing surface providing excellent climbs for leading. There's also an excellent beginners' area for those starting out, and we can provide lessons to help you get the best out of your climbing experience.
We Offer:
There are a range of different ways to use the Extreme Edge, from casual to yearly memberships. We cater for all age groups, birthday parties and even corporate team building. It’s hard to be scared of your boss when they’re hanging from a rope crying like a little girl because they’re scared of heights! Our instructors have about two hundred years of climbing experience between them and someone is always on hand to give a belay lesson or provide that piece of handy advice on how to get into your climbing harness (or out of your climbing harness if you need to visit the little boys/girls room!) or on how to do that tricky move that’s been bugging your for weeks now. Don’t be surprised if the regulars give advice too as they’re wandering around, a bunch of them are instructors here too and even if they’re not, they’re just nice people who like to help!
