College Street Normal prides itself on providing high quality classroom instruction that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas particularly in literacy and numeracy.

The school has a disproportionate number of academically very able students with many children excelling each year in National and Australasian competitions. Their needs are catered for both within the classroom and through an expansive ‘Children with Special Abilities’ programme. The school also has a very robust and comprehensive special needs programme that caters for the needs of pupils with learning difficulties.
