Puketapu School is found fifteen minutes drive from the centre of Napier in the region of Hawkes Bay. Our school is in the rural settlement of Puketapu. The Puketapu district is well known throughout the province for its beautiful scenery, wineries, cycling trails and other village attractions for those exploring the countryside.
Our roll reaches about 240 students each year, spread through the school's nine classrooms. We are a 'full primary' with students between Years 1 and 8, who all combine to create a supportive, family learning environment. The senior students of the school play a major part in a number of activities throughout the year, and interact very positively with the younger pupils.
Puketapu School is one of the oldest schools in Hawkes Bay, having been established in 1864.
