Karangahake River Lodge & Campervan Park is bounded on two sides by the beautiful Ohinemuri River - popular with swimmers, kayakers and trout fishers alike.
Set amidst park like surroundings against the backdrop of Karangahake Mountain the Lodge & Cabins are built in a style similar to the historic gold processing batteries which functioned deafeningly during the gold mining period between 1885 and 1919.
Facilities:
River Lodge: The Lodge sleeps a maximum of 14 persons in four bunkrooms. Guests share a ‘Gathering Room’ with comfortable lounge area, gas fire heating, dining table and fully equipped kitchen.
The Lodge has been especially designed as access friendly with ramps and disabled bathroom facilities. Guests supply their own bedding or bedding is available for hire
Park Motel:
The two cabins are fully self-contained with kitchen facilities and bathroom. As park motels, all bedding and linen is provided as is complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
Power Sites:
Campervans are provided with superior facilities in park like surroundings. There are three ensuite style bathrooms plus additional separate toilet to cater for 10 sites. Coin operated washing machine and dryer are available. Because of the environmental sensitivity of the riverside location we are unable to offer dump facilities for campervan toilet waste. However, both Paeroa and Waihi supply dump facilities adjacent to public toilets.
