Wakari School is a Primary Contributing School in the greater Dunedin area, catering for children Years 0 to 6. The school is based around 12 to 14 composite classes and these are divided into three syndicates. A major school emphasis is to keep class sizes small to maximise children’s learning opportunities.
At Wakari School we promote the 4 C's as part of our school culture. These are Courtesy, Consideration, Co-operation and Common Sense. Children are expected to follow these. As a family-oriented school we promote and encourage parental involvement. The assistance of parents is valued and is vital to the ongoing success of the school, for example, school camps, class trips, swimming, family events, etc.
Those currently comprising the Wakari School community contribute to an ongoing cycle of school improvement, building on successes of the past.
