Smart Moves Creative Dance school offers fun and engaging dance classes for both boys and girls from 6 months to 8-years-old. Based in Christchurch.
Children love to move. Crawling, climbing, skipping and jumping however, is not only fun, it is essential for learning. Research shows the specific importance of movement for healthy brain development.
At Smart Moves Creative Dance we concentrate on promoting children’s active movement during the critical preschool years through a programme of creative dance classes. This programme provides a fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate way of stimulating the healthy physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of young children.
Smart Moves also offers creative ballet classes for school aged children. We explore ballet technique, musicality, healthy alignment and improvisation in a fun, relaxed environment.
This dance school is founded upon an understanding of current research on how the brain learns, so as to ensure that learning dance, developing skills and technique, and creating is both fun and beneficial.
During term time The Dance Studio offers Jazz and Tap classes. The Studio is also home to ‘Boyzdance2’ – boy’s only classes in Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop (from 5yrs plus).
