The preschool offers care and education for children aged up to six years. We are committed to maintaining a stimulating programme and to creating an open, caring atmosphere that supports both children and their families.

The James Street Preschool and Junior School offer a balanced mix of structured learning and free play experiences.

Preschool (approx. 2 ½ - 5 years)

• Fun, challenging broad-based educational programme incorporating free play and structured play, based around child's interests.
• Children at this age are encouraged to participate in group art, language, drama, music and movement, cognitive development, fine and gross motor development, stories, puzzles and games.
• We provide activities where children are in smaller groups enabling them to build up solid relationships with an adult and other children of their own age and also allowing children to work on challenging tasks at their own level.
• Extended programme for the 4 to 5 year age group which includes pre-writing, pre-reading, pre-maths, computer skills, self-help skills to provide a sound preparation for their transition to school.
