Altura Park is Situated amongst limestone formations just 4kms from the famous Waitomo Caves, the space is suitable for picnics, weddings, birthday parties and gatherings. The 20 acre wildlife park is home to 85 different varieties of birds and animals. Horse treks on station bred horses are also available.
Altura Park includes a 20 acre animal park and 5 acres of beautiful gardens which are attached to a drystock farm of which has recently had a further purchase added making it a total of 680 acres.
After a friendly greeting when you enter the park you can mingle and interact with the friendly ducks, emu, deer, chooks, goats, rabbits, donkeys, mini horses, blue tongued lizard and more.
Other birds and animals in the park include Scottish Highland cattle, llamas, ostrich, a fantastic selection of pheasants and parrots, goats, swans and peacocks. Visitors can also venture inside the large landscaped nocturnal Owl house.
