Having arrived in New Zealand from his native Yugoslavia with little more than a head full of small-goods recipes, Milan Malivuk set to work to recreate the traditional taste of the village he left behind with the Little Wolf range. Using only the freshest pork, herbs and spices, the resulting meaty goodness is naturally fermented, smoked several times with manuka then carefully dried for up to five months.

The result of all this love, patience and old-world knowledge is a dense, authentically spiced salami. And the receptacle for eating it? Milan believes Two Hands'" Slightly Rye with Poppy Seeds to be a worthy partner; its gentle sourdough notes balancing the subtle sweetness of the meat. After all, when you go to this much trouble for a salami sandwich, you don’t compromise on the bread.
