Butterfly Creek is one of Auckland’s most family friendly attractions. The Tropical Butterfly House has over 700 free flying exotic butterflies as well as birds, fish and turtles. Other features include a walk through exhibit with some of NZ’s largest tropical aquaria, and a variety of lizards and insects; Buttermilk Farm interactive farm and the Red Admiral Express Train. Parents can sit back and relax in the child friendly Papillon Bar and Café or adjacent courtyard while the kids go wild in Curly’s playground. Ask about their Bud Club annual memberships, school and tour group discounts and great children’s birthday party packages.
Entry is free to Papillon Bar and Café and Curly’s playground. Affordable charges apply to Butterfly House, Farm, Train and Pony rides.

Kids Parties - Birthdays: Butterfly Creek is a great Auckland birthday venue with a variety of children`s activities to keep them entertained for hours. Check out Bud`s Party room for children`s birthday parties.
Farm Animal Petting Zoo: This interactive farmyard is a great chance for the little kids (and the big kids at heart) to come up close with their favourite farmyard animals in a safe, clean environment. Our experienced farm manager will be on hand to introduce you to the cute, cuddly and bizarre animals including rabbits, pigs and alpacas.
Miniature Train Ride: All aboard as you ride around Butterfly Creek on the miniature train traversing the wetlands, passing through the tunnel, over the bridges and past shark infested waters of Treasure Island Mini Golf. The Red Admiral Express has two carriages and can hold approximately 50 passengers.
As the train driver chugs around Butterfly Creek, they will sound the horn to say hello to our neighbours and resident animals - so make sure you check out your friends at Buttermilk Farm and wave to them as you pass them by.
Fun for the Kids: PLAY! PLAY! PLAY! There is so much fun to be had in Curly’s playground with climbing frames, slides and tunnels. Parents can sit back and relax in Papillon Bar and Café, or the large adjacent patio while the kids have fun.
Curly’s Playground is securely fenced, bright and colourful and enjoys an attractive setting including palm trees and expansive gardens - so let the kids go wild!
Bud’s Party Room, situated next to Curly’s Playground, is great for Children’s parties and birthdays. Bud’s Party Room can cater for up to 50 people.
