Eastern Suburbs Association Football Club Inc was formed in 1934 as a result of the amalgamation between Tamaki United AFC (formed 1924) and Glen Innes (formed 1930), and it has proved a great nursery for Auckland football. During it's 72 years of existence Eastern Suburbs has won every honour available to a club in New Zealand soccer. Titles include:

  • Chatham Cup: 1951, 53, 65, 68
  • Rothmans National League: 1971

  • Northern League Champions: 1965 & 66
  • Auckland FA Champions: 1948, 50, 51, 52, 53, 57 & 62

While these victories have brought great prestige and publicity to the club, it views its greatest success as having provided a recreational and sporting environment for thousands of youngsters and their families in and around the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland. It has been able to do this because successive club committees have pledged their commitment to fostering the development of junior and teenage soccer.

The club's catchment area extends from Parnell, Newmarket and Remuera in the West through Meadowbank, Mission Bay, Kohimaramara, St Heliers, Glendowie, Glen Innes and into Panmure .

The club administration staff consists of 2 part-time emplyees who report to the club executive and are based at the Madills Farm clubrooms. Activities are organised and operated largely by enthusiasts providing their time, experience and effort on a voluntary basis and we therefore continually look for the members support. Structurally the club is run by an Executive Committee and three sub committees namely, Seniors (18 years and above) , Youth (10-17 year olds) and Juniors (5-9 year olds).

Holiday Coaching (5-12-year)

School Holiday Football Coaching Clinics Madill’s Farm:

Eastern Suburbs Association Football Club (ESAFC) runs a series of coaching programmes throughout the School Holiday Terms. We have a range of exciting programmes running in the following school holidays, from as little as $90.00.

The holiday Programme incorporates age specific games and exercises, focused on small sided games and skill challenges. Each day will highlight a specific skill category e.g., dribbling, shooting, passing or receiving. All sessions will emphasise individual development as well as teamwork, in a relaxed and positive environment.

Football Firebirds (ages 5 – 7):

This football fun age group, will focus on maximum individual ball contact to improve confidence and enjoyment of the game. Rather than drills, this group will be coached through themed games and skill challenges. E.g. end-zone football, football tag games such as shark attack and traffic lights.

Football Fanatics (Ages 8-10):

This group will include skill development through fun games and matches. We will concentrate on individual development along with placing importance on team spirit.

Football Maestros (Ages 11-12):

The Maestros will once more be engaged in football fun activities, but in turn adding more match scenarios such as 1v1, 3v3, 6v6, counterattacking, as well as both defending and attacking drills.
