StudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development. We seek to ensure that students get the finance and support they are entitled to so they can complete their study.

StudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development.

We connect people with the information they need to make informed decisions about student finances and other study-related issues, and provide financial support to students.

We have a Student Support Centre in Palmerston North, where applications are received and processed, a Contact Centre in Lower Hutt and a number of Outreach offices around the country.

There are staff at different times of the year on the major campus sites throughout New Zealand to assist students with making informed decisions about their study choices and financial options.

StudyLink offers:

  • Student Allowance
  • Scholarship
  • Student Loan
  • Extra help with costs

Outreach office:

Between March and November each year our staff deliver a programme called 'On Course' to senior high school students. The programme informs students about options for financing their studies and the importance of making good decisions about the options they choose.

StudyLink Service Charter:

This Service Charter aims to set out clearly and simply the standards of service that students can expect from StudyLink and what we expect of you as a client. Staff and student representatives contributed to the development of the Charter and it is reviewed and updated regularly.
