This very popular beach close to Devonport has lovely sand and is safe for children to swim. The Pohutukawa trees provide shade and there are some great picnic and barbeque spots nearby. At low tide it's possible to walk around to nearby Cheltenham beach. At the reserve, which is next to the beach, there's a little playground with swings slide and a roundabout. There is an excellent beach cafe here too selling great coffee, home made pies and ice-creams! Picnic and barbecue facilities are provided. A sailing club is based here so enjoy the yacht racing off the beach.
