BB’s Coffee and Bake at New Lynn
Children and adults will be kept happy at this café chain! There’s flavoured milk with mini muffins on the menu for $2, along with ‘fingers for kids’, ‘bambino nachos’, ice cream ‘spiders’ and fluffies. The grown-ups coffee is pretty good as well! Highchairs provided.
Swanson Station Cafe
A bustling friendly family cafe just on the edge of the Waitakeres and on-route to Bethells beach. There's great food for both kids and adults. Highchairs are provided, together with a big basket of toys, puzzles and books. An adventure playground is just up the road from the cafe and the boys seem to enjpy the trains that potter past and occasionally stop here. (this was the old station!) A real find and a worthwhile trip out - maybe adding a visit to the fantastic Bethells beach at the same time.
Hook, Line & Sinker
For $6.95 kids can enjoy a main meal, dessert and cold drink. There’s a choice of hot dog, chicken nuggets, steak, fish, and hamburger – all served with fries. Alternatively they can dive into the roast of the day! Dessert is either ice cream sundae or banana split and there’s a range of soft drinks or flavoured milk. Highchairs provided.

Best between 12noon and 7.00pm.
Nikau Club Café
The Nikau Club Café is situated on Scenic Drive – a perfect spot to stop if you’re heading to Piha, Kare Kare or Bethells Beach. While adults enjoy the stunning views over the Waitakeres, kids can get stuck into the play area - complete with sofas, toys and books – as well as the children’s menu! There are a number of options, including nuggets or crumbed fish served with chips and salads. There’s one highchair, but no baby changing facility.

Tuesday to Friday: 12noon ‘till closing
Saturday to Sunday: 10.00am ‘till closing.
BB’s Coffee and Bake at Papatoetoe
Children and adults will be kept happy at this cafe chain! There’s a choice of orange juice, milkshakes, small hot chocolates, fluffies, Barbie or Bob the Builder fruit drinks with mini muffins for $2. The grown-ups coffee is pretty good as well! Highchairs provided.

CEO
Recommended to Kids New Zealand by a number of parents, CEO is a relaxing café, with child-friendly, tolerant staff. You’ll find gourmet sandwiches, mini bagels, pizzas and savouries, as well as wheat and gluten- free options for kids with allergies. There’s a toy box, highchair, but unfortunately no baby changing facility.
Hours:
Monday to Friday: 7.30am-5.00pm
Saturday to Sunda: 7.30am-10.00pm.
Bronco’s Steak House
At Bronco’s Steak House kids have a wide choice of main meals and desserts for $8. There’s burgers, fish and chips, hot dogs, mini roast pork, pizza, chicken nuggets and potato wedges. Desserts include ice cream sundae, jelly and ice-cream, banana split and - wait for it - pavlova! Kids will have a tough time selecting from the cocktail menu – there’s chocolate mud, traffic light, pink panther, blue devil and vampires thirst to choose from.

Best between 12noon and 2pm; 5.00pm and 7.00pm.

Butterfly Creek south
Papillon Bar and Café at Butterfly Creek offers a good menu selection in beautiful surroundings at affordable prices. Kids will be entertained by lots of attractions (at a small additional charge) including Buttermilk Farm, and a train trip (The Red Admiral Express). There is no charge for use of the popular Curlys Playground and Cafe. This is a great place to relax with the kids in tow. A tropical Butterfly House opens later this year. The menu selection caters for all appetites, with kids menus and yummy food for the grown-ups!
