Yummy Burritos with Aria Farm Chips (Recipe by Aria Farm)

Cook the chips and then set them aside.

Heat burritos (burritos can be purchased from any supermarket), place chips, carrot, lettuce, red pepper and chips inside so they are protruding out the ends of the burrito.

Drizzle the burrito with plum sauce or salsa on top and a little cheese. Grill the burritos and then garnish them with lettuce and tomato on side.

A quick, nutritious and yummy meal!

Vegetable Pilaf (Recipe by Aria Farm)

Cook Aria Farm vege chips and then set them aside.

Cook 1 ½ c rice.

Fry ½ red onion, add 1 tsp curry powder and 1 tsp chilli powder.

In a bowl put together a little kernel corn, a small red pepper (chopped), broccoli florets (fine), walnuts and cashews and raisins. Add to the onion mixture and mix until combined. Place vege chips in rice mixture.

Serve with a dollop of yoghurt and chopped parsley with a little cayenne sprinkled on top. Yum!

Triple Decker Shepherd’s Pie (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

This recipe makes 6 mini-portions of shepherd’s pie which I freeze and use for a quick ready-made meal. Children love brightly coloured peas and sweetcorn and I have used them here as a tempting filling between meet and potato (you could also use baked beans). Instead of the cheese you could use 25g butter or margarine in the mashed potato.


  • 750g learn minced beef
  • 1 small garlic clove, crushed (optional)
  • Vegetable oil or margarine for frying
  • 1 large onion, peeled and chopped

Scarlett’s tasty rice meal (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

A complete meal for your child which is simple, healthy and very tasty. My two-year-old daughter loves the dish even though she is not keen on eating red meat.


  • 75g basmati rice
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 225g lean minced beef
  • ½ red or green pepper, de-seeded and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tomatoes, skinned, de-seeded and chopped

Ravishing Risotto (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

To make a traditional risotto is very time-consuming as the liquid is added to the rice about four times during the cooking period. Anyone with children to look after will know that cooking something which involves a lot of attention and precise timing can quickly result in a very burnt saucepan. With this recipe the liquid is added all at once and the rice can be left to simmer in a covered saucepan for 40 minutes quite happily.

Pasta with Chicken and Peppers au gratin (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

Chicken with pasta is quite unusual but this creamy pasta with a golden, bubbly topping makes a great combination.


  • 1 chicken breast, cut into small strips
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Vegetable oil or margarine for frying
  • ½ small red pepper, de-seeded and cut into strips
  • ½ small yellow pepper, de-seeded and cut into strips
  • 25g butter or margarine
  • 25g flour
  • 250ml milk
  • 50g Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 50g thin dried spaghetti or fresh pasta.

Mermaid Morsels (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

Bringing these parcels of scrumptious fish to the table will certainly arouse your child’s curiosity. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. You could use any type of white fish. For another simple but very delicious parcel, take a fillet of fish, sprinkle over 1 tablespoon of chopped spring onions, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and dot with butter or margarine. Wrap in foil and cook as below.


  • 225g fillets of white fish
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Lamb chops baked in a parcel (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

This is a very easy recipe which seals in all the flavour of the chops. Some children are quite happy chewing meat, especially if they can chew it off a bone.


  • ¼ small onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 1 small potato, peeled and cut into small cubes
  • ½ small green pepper, de-seeded and chopped
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 lamb rib chops
  • ½ teaspoon Marmite
  • 1 medium tomato, peeled and finely chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Flaked Fish with Bananas and Grapes (Recipe by Annabel Karmel)

Blending fruit with fish gives it a taste which children love. This is quick and easy to make and lovely served over a bed of rice.


  • 225 g terikihi, cod or snapper cut into chunks
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Butter or margarine for frying
  • 2 bananas
  • 10 seedless grapes, peeled
  • 15g butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 150ml milk
