It was hot! News from home was all cold and freezing while we were sweltering in a heatwave that hit Europe to coincide with our visit! Brussels was a lovely city and the art galleries and buildings really brought home the history of the European culture and heritage.

Argentine Tango in New Zealand

TangoClub is a non-profit group made up of Argentine tango enthusiasts in Auckland. We love the music, we love the dance, and we want to share that joy with others through our weekly milongas and other events.

The original TangoClub team got together at the end of 2007 and decided to channel their passion for tango into something new and exciting, with a milonga with fresh music as a first step.

We have made a difference to the tango scene in Auckland, not just through our milongas, but also through our free beginners classes and other events. We continue with the following goals:

The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society

Scottish Tradition - Music and Dance

Scottish dancing traces its roots back into the mists of time but Scottish Country Dancing as we know it today owes much to its development in the 18th and 19th centuries under the influence of European dancing masters. At this time outstanding musicians, especially fiddlers, gave new life to traditional music and wrote many lively reels and jigs and graceful strathspeys in the traditional style.
