Fiona has been working as an occupational therapist for the last 25years. She has worked in the England and South Africa working with acute accident cases, head injuries, burns, and acute hand injury patients as well as with children with developmental delays and/or learning difficulties.
Then in 1986 she started her own private practice in South Africa working with children with developmental delays and/or learning difficulties.

Honey Centre and Cafe
Another good café to take the kids on a trip to either Warkworth or beyond. Just off the main road so an easy stop, kids will love the live bee display where they can watch the queen and worker bees. The café serves freshly baked food and there is plenty to choose from - Kids love the honey and fruit ice creams for dessert!
The Honey Centre is located in the lush, green New Zealand countryside near Warkworth, New Zealand. It is a 40-minute drive north of Auckland and a worthwhile & entertaining trip for the whole family.
Art of Cheese
This great location makes 'Art of Cheese' a ‘must visit’ with children, particularly if you’re heading North and want to break the car trip. Take the turn off to Puhoi and follow the signs! You’ll find acres of space for children to run around, as well as a large sandpit, swings and a great playhouse. kids can select from toasted sandwiches, muffins or mini pizzas and the adult menu includes a number of wonderful bruch and lunch options with some real cheese treats! There are highchairs and baby changing facilities and of course don’t forget to stock up on cheese -A great place!
Leigh Saw Mill Café
Leigh’s Saw Mill Café is a great spot for a family lunch. The kids' menu includes wood-fired pizzas, fresh fish and chips, crispy chicken parcels, an antipasto plate and yummy toasted banana bread with crispy bacon and bananas. For drinks they offer fresh juices, fizzies, smoothies and fluffys. Dessert is ice cream and yummy chocolate sauce. Highchairs and a baby changing room provided.
The café is happy to host birthday parties good for older kids.
Famous for our gourmet woodfired pizzas and fresh fish, the Sawmill Café offers international cuisine with a unique New Zealand flavour.
Bees Online Café
The popular – and very busy - BeesOnline Honey Centre and Café is a fun place to take the kids. just 5 mins drive past Kumeu, Combine a spot of lunch with a tour of their bee hive – children will be enthralled! There’s a wonderful selection of food for adults, as well as a children’s menu featuring a ‘junior grazing platter’ – vegetable fingers, cheese, cold meats, boiled egg, buzz bar and homemade lemonade and honey ($8). Two highchairs and baby changing facilities are provided.
BeesOnline is an artisan honey producer with a superb range of specialty New Zealand honey products.
Soljans cafe and Vineyard
Another popular recommendation by many parents. This modern cafe based at the winery is great for families to meet up for either brunch or lunch especially on a nice day. Adults can sample the wine and select from a good and varied menu and the kids can enjoy the outside playhouse and larged grassed area with lots of activities all safely tucked away from the road!
Allely House - Selaks Vineyard Restaurant
If you’re keen to get out of Auckland and want somewhere the kids can run around or kick a ball, try the Vineyard Restaurant. For $14.50 they can enjoy either fish bites, chicken nuggets or squid rings and fries, with a soft drink and sundae. There are books to keep the kids entertained as well as highchairs.
