Toy Library Federation New Zealand

Toy Libraries are an inexpensive way to give your kids new toys to play with! There are toy libraries throughout the Auckland region where you can rent out toys for a week or two.

Manukau Libraries

All branches of Manukau Libraries hold regular pre-school storytimes. Inspire your pre-schooler with the love of books and bring them along to your local library for a storytime session filled with fun, stories, rhymes and songs.

  • Manukau City Centre Library (Mezzanine Floor, Westfield Manukau Shopping Centre), Tuesday, 10am, Pre-school Storytime.
  • Clendon Library, Pre-school Storytime, Wednesday 9.30am.
  • Howick Library, Pre-school Storytime, Wednesday 10.30am and 1.30pm.

North Shore Library Storytimes

The North Shore Library run Lapsit and Storytime sessions during the school term. Lapsit is designed for babies and toddlers which includes rhymes, stories, fingerplays and music. Storytime is reading aloud great stories and some libraries have a craft activity. Each session is about 30 minutes in length, and it's FREE.

  • Birkenhead Library Tuesday and Thursday 9.30am Lapsit.
  • Devonport Library, Monday 10am Lapsit and Friday 10am Storytime.
  • East Coast Bays Library, Tuesday and Friday 9.30am Lapsit and Wednesday 10am Afrikaanse stories.

Waitakere City Council Libraries

Every school holidays Waitakere Library and Information Services are pleased to offer special themed story times in all our branches. Each story time is especially suitable for children aged 4-9 years, however all ages are welcome. The school holiday story times are interactive: featuring stories, songs and activities. Sometimes a costumed character may make an appearance.
