Air Force Adventure tour at Air Force Museum of New Zealand

If you’re aged between 3 and 12 or simply young at heart then this experience will give you a chance to see if you’ve got what it takes to be an Air Force Pilot! Take this 60 minute tour to see areas of the Museum not normally open to the general public and maybe even ‘graduate’ with your own set of Air Force Museum ‘Pilot’s Wings’.

Tours are available on weekends and during school & public holidays. Tours cost $5 per child, $3 for accompanying adults and 2 and under are free. All children receive their own complimentary ‘Pilot’s Log Book’.

Join in the fun at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki's KidsClub, created especially for 5 to 10 year olds. Look, learn, and create in special workshops with tutor Kate Sellar and the Gallery Guides.

This weekend's KidsClub: Weave it. Robin White's series of woven mats depicting life's 'essentials' - bread, milk, et cetera - introduce us to the art of paper weaving. Design, cut weave and create your mat for us to laminate so it will be preserved forever.

Edventure 2-Day Fishing Module

When:

  • Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st of December (Hamilton)
  • Thursday 13th and Friday 14th of January (Hamilton, Morrinsville)
  • Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th of January (Albany)

Edventure is a running two day fishing programme, including hands on classroom activities, knot tying, fish identification, rules and regulations followed by a full day fishing excursion.

Spend an action-packed day (from 9.30am until 2.30pm) in the life of a Victorian character! Find out what it would have been like to be an early land owner living in ‘The Big House”, or to be one of the servants looking after them! Go hunting or empty the chamber pots! Take time off from the washing to go mud-sliding, have a picnic or play Victorian Games.

Bookings are essential and togs, towel, hats and sun cream a must. Please bring a packed lunch. We look forward to seeing you in our beautiful, Historic Village.

Immerse yourself in The Whale’s Tale, as you watch from the shore or submerge yourself in this underwater playground full of surprises and become a part of this large outdoor performance. Ever wondered what it’s like to be swallowed whole? It’s time to put on your shrimp helmet, take a deep breath and dive inside the massive jaws of Manilayo, the inflatable eight metre humpback whale. Become the hero and live to tell the tale!

Come along to Silver Stream Railway on Sunday 6th March 2011, 11am to 4pm to celebrate Children's Day. Children ride for FREE when accompanied by a fare paying adult. A great day for all the family!

We will be running two steam locomotives and our grand vintage railcar Rm30. Also, view our current restoration work. This is an opportunity not to be missed!
