Parents Centres NZ Inc is the primary provider of antenatal Education and childbirth support in New Zealand, with 120 plus diploma and certified Childbirth Educators.

We offer wide ranging support and education in the community across all aspects of parenting from pre birth to school ready.

Why not take the kids on a little railway adventure? ‘Little Toot’ the steam train will take you on a 350 metre trip through the bush. Toddlers and under 5yrs just love it! There's also lots of bunnies, hens, sheep, goats and chickens which are very friendly and love being fed (you can purchase bags of food there). There's a cafe and basic adventure type playground at the railway.

This picturesque miniature train journey through native bush in the Waitakere Ranges lasts just over an hour (although allow 2 hours total).

On the way to the Waitakere Dam you’ll go through a 0.7km long tunnel and cross two bridges. Bookings are essential as the train only takes 20 passengers.

You can safely touch, feed and learn about the animals, explore the eco-discovery trail, adventure terrain and pond life encounter, plus see the world famous sheep and dog shows.

There is also great selection of gifts and momentoes in the Ecowool shop and Craft store then sit back, relax and enjoy great coffee and food in the Black Sheep Café. Groups are very welcome.

Rain Forest Express

Climb aboard the Rain Forest Express for a 5.5 km bush train journey through the bushclad Nihotupu Valley in the Waitakere Ranges. The narrow gauge railway, laid to build the Nihotupu Dam, takes you through ten tunnels and over nine bridges offering spectacular views of lakes and forest. Bookings essential.
