HVMC is a social running club catering for all levels of ability from recreational walkers to ultra distance runners.
The Club meets regularly on Sunday mornings (see below) and regular training groups meet most Tuesday and Thursdays at the Fountain carpark (cnr Laings and Myrtle Streets, next to the Hutt City Council Buildings) at 6:00pm.

Capoeira is a distinctive blend of martial arts, dance, ritual and music that attracts people of all backgrounds. It builds core strength, flexibility and balance – an ideal workout.
The game or “Jogo de Capoeira” is best described as a circle (called a “roda”) in which two players (capoeiristas) display their techniques in a whirlwind of power, speed and agility. They are guided by the music, singing and clapping of the people in the roda.

Hapkido is a Korean martial art of self defence descending from Daito-Ryu Aiki JuJutsu. Hapkido teaches you to defend yourself and others against a variety of attacks. It combines hand strikes and powerful kicking with joint locks, pressure points, holds, takedowns and throws.
Hapkido includes the use of everyday items, such as coins, pens, magazines, and bags as defensive weapons. It also offers very good all round physical training - improving your aerobic capability, strength, stamina and flexibility.
